Overview
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) have announced the window for resignation and seat withdrawal for candidates who joined a seat during Round 1 of the NEET UG 2026 Counselling.
Eligibility
This facility is applicable to candidates who joined a Round 1 seat and:
- Float Candidates: Did not upgrade in Round 2.
- Freeze Candidates: Chose to retain their Round 1 seat.
Critical Deadlines
- Resignation Deadline: Till 6:00 PM on 15 September 2026 (to ensure security deposit is not forfeited).
- Withdrawal Window: 17 September 2026.
Process & Instructions
- Float Candidates: Must log into the official MCC candidate portal to generate the Seat Withdrawal Slip independently.
- Freeze Candidates: Cannot resign online; the process must be initiated through the Nodal Officer of the allotted institute.
- Validation: Any resignation without a portal-generated Withdrawal Slip will be treated as 'Null and Void'.
- Caution: Informal communications (like emails to colleges) are not valid proof of resignation unless accompanied by the official portal document.
