Recruitment Overview

Prepare for the MP Police ASI & Subedar (Stenographer) 2026 exams with a clear understanding of the selection process and syllabus. The recruitment is handled by the Madhya Pradesh Police Recruitment Board.

Selection Process

Candidates must qualify in each of the following stages to proceed:

• Written Exam: Objective test (Paper 1 & 2).
• Practical Test: Skill-based test in Hindi Shorthand and Typing.
• Document Verification: Final verification of educational and category credentials.

Exam Pattern

1. Written Examination

• Total Marks: 100
• Minimum Qualifying Marks: 30%
• Language: Hindi & English
• Negative Marking: None

2. Practical Examination (100 Marks)

• Subedar (Steno): Hindi shorthand dictation (100 wpm) and transcription typing.
• ASI (Steno): Hindi typing of long passages (approx. 600 words each).

Detailed Syllabus

Paper 1: General Ability

• General Knowledge: Current Affairs, Indian History & Culture, Geography, Economy, Govt Schemes, and Environment.
• Reasoning: Verbal & Non-verbal, Series, Analogies, and Coding-Decoding.
• Science & Mathematics: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, and Data Interpretation.

Paper 2: Language & Awareness

• Hindi Language: Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, Antonyms & Synonyms.
• English Language: Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, Sentence Formation.
• General Knowledge: Reiteration of key GK topics including Current Affairs and History.

Preparation Tips

• Solve previous year papers to understand weightage.
• Practice Hindi shorthand/typing daily to improve speed and accuracy.
• Use a timer while solving Math and Reasoning questions.
