Greater Chennai Corporation Staff Nurse Recruitment 2026

Overview

The Greater Chennai Corporation, through the Chennai City Urban Health Mission, is recruiting 512 (estimated) Staff Nurses. These positions are purely temporary/contractual and will be deployed across various institutions under the Directorate of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Medical and Rural Health Services, and Medical Education & Research.

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) or B.Sc. Nursing degree from a recognized Government or Government-approved Private Nursing College.
• Professional Registration: A valid registration with the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council is mandatory.
• Age Limit: Maximum age is 50 years.

Application Process

This recruitment follows an offline application process:

1. Download the application form from the official GCC or NHM-TN website.
2. Complete the form and attach two recent passport-size color photographs.
3. Attach self-attested photocopies of all required documents.
4. Submit the physical application to the City Health Officer / Member Secretary, Chennai City Urban Health Mission, 3rd Floor, Amma Maaligai Ripon Buildings, Chennai - 600 003.

Mandatory Documents for Submission

• Proof of Identity/Age: Birth Certificate, SSLC, or HSC certificate.
• Academic Proof: Diploma/B.Sc. Degree certificate and all mark sheets.
• Registration: Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council registration certificate.
• Language Proficiency: Evidence of Tamil eligibility (10th or 12th marks).
• Other Documents: Community certificate, Proof of residency (Aadhar/Voter ID), and a Character and Conduct certificate issued within the last 3 months.
