The Uttar Pradesh Shiksha Seva Chayan Aayog (UPESSC), Prayagraj, has announced a massive recruitment drive for Assistant Teachers under the Basic and Secondary Education Departments.

• Total Vacancies: 12,405
• Assistant Teacher (Primary, Urban): 11,508 posts (Basic Education Dept)
• Assistant Teacher (Sambaddh Primary): 897 posts (Secondary Education Dept)

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification:

  • Graduate degree from a recognized university.
  • Training qualification: B.T.C. / D.El.Ed. / B.El.Ed. or equivalent.
  • Must have qualified the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by State or Central Government.
• Age Limit (as of 01.07.2026):

  • Urban Posts: 21–40 years.
  • Sambaddh Primary: Minimum 21 years.
  • Age relaxations apply for SC/ST/OBC (5 years), PwBD (15 years), and Shiksha Mitras (up to 60 years).

Selection is based on a Merit List derived from a written examination:

• Total Marks: 360 marks
• Questions: 120 Objective Type (MCQs)
• Duration: 2 Hours
• Marking: +3 for correct answer; -1 for wrong answer (Negative Marking applies).
• Language: Bilingual (Hindi & English).
