The UP Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has announced direct recruitment for 2,607 Pravakta (PGT/Lecturer) positions in government-aided secondary schools across Uttar Pradesh under Advertisement No. 06/2026.

Vacancy Details
A total of 2,607 vacancies are available across 26 subjects:
- Boys' Schools: 2,329 posts
- Girls' Schools: 278 posts
- Top Subjects: Hindi (374), English (285), Sanskrit (264), and Geography (248).
Eligibility Criteria
- Education:
- General Subjects: Postgraduate degree in the relevant subject AND a B.Ed degree from an NCTE-recognized programme.
- Physical Education: Graduate degree AND M.P.Ed.
- Painting Arts: High School + Diploma in Fine Arts AND B.Ed.
- Age Limit: 21 to 62 years (as of 1 July 2026).
- Nationality: Must be a citizen of India.
Salary & Benefits
- Pay Level: Level-8
- Pay Scale: ₹47,600 – ₹1,51,100
Selection Process
The final merit list is based on a total of 400 marks:
- Written Examination (360 Marks): 120 objective questions (30 GK + 90 Subject-specific). Marking: +3 for correct, -1 for wrong.
- Interview (40 Marks): Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview.
