Recruitment Overview
The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has issued brief notifications (No. 25/2026 & 26/2026) for direct recruitment to various welfare officer positions across the state's Social, Tribal, and Backward Classes Welfare departments.
Vacancy Details
A total of 90 provisional vacancies are available:
- Assistant Social Welfare Officer: 11 Posts
- Assistant Tribal Welfare Officer: 06 Posts
- Hostel Welfare Officer Grade-II: 73 Posts (Distributed across Social, Tribal, and BC Welfare services)
Eligibility Criteria
- Assistant Social/Tribal Welfare Officer: Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
- Hostel Welfare Officer Grade-II: Educational qualifications will be specified in the Detailed Notification (due by 9 October 2026).
- Crucial Date: The date of the Detailed Notification will be the cutoff date for age and qualification eligibility.
Salary Structure
- Assistant Welfare Officers: ₹48,440 – 1,37,220
- Hostel Welfare Officer Grade-II: ₹37,640 – 1,15,500
Selection Process
Selection will be based on a single-level online Computer-Based Recruitment Test (CBRT). There will be no screening test regardless of the number of applications.
Exam Scheme:
- Assistant Welfare Officers: 3 Papers (General Studies & Mental Ability + 2 Subject Papers), Total 450 Marks.
- Hostel Welfare Officer Grade-II: 2 Papers (General Studies & Mental Ability + Education), Total 300 Marks.
- Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark deduction for each wrong answer.
