Overview

Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL), a state-owned power transmission utility in Odisha, invites online applications from eligible Odisha domicile candidates for a 1-year apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, 1961. A total of 100 seats are available across Degree Engineering, Degree Non-Engineering, Diploma Technician, and ITI Trade disciplines.

• ITI Trade Apprentice (36 Seats) – Stipend: ₹9,600/month

  • ITI Electrician: 33 | ITI Electronic Mechanic: 3

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Degree Engg: BE/B.Tech in Electrical, Computer Science/IT, or Electronics & Telecom / Instrumentation.
• Degree Non-Engg: MBA (HR) / MSW / PG Degree in Personnel Management OR M.Com / B.Com with CMA Inter OR LLM / LLB.
• Diploma: Diploma in Electrical, Civil, or Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.
• ITI: ITI in Electrician or Electronics Mechanic Trade.
• Passing Year: Qualifying exam must be completed during Academic Year 2023–24, 2024–25, or 2025–26 (Passed by 1 July 2026).

General Conditions

• Domicile: Only Indian nationals belonging to the State of Odisha are eligible.
• Age Limit: Minimum 18 years as on 1 August 2026.
• Exclusions: Candidates with existing job experience of 1 year or more or who have previously completed apprenticeship training are NOT eligible.
• NATS/NAPS Registration: Must be registered on NATS 2.0 or NAPS portal with an Aadhaar-seeded bank account.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on academic merit, written test, or interview depending on the specific discipline requirements. Shortlisted candidates will be notified for document verification.
