Recruitment Overview

The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) is conducting a massive recruitment drive for Assistant Professors under Advertisement Number 04/2026. This opportunity is open for both co-education and women's degree colleges.

Vacancy Details

• Total Posts: 1,936
• Co-education Colleges: 1,564 posts
• Women's Colleges: 372 posts
• Subjects: 42 different subjects including Hindi, English, Economics, Physics, Chemistry, and Law.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

Candidates must fulfill one of the following routes:

• Route A: Master's degree with at least 55% marks in the relevant subject AND a qualifying NET/SLET/SET certificate. (PhD holders may be exempt as per UGC regulations).
• Route B: PhD in the relevant subject from a foreign university ranked in the Top 500 (QS/THE/Shanghai rankings).
• Special Arts/Music: Candidates may apply with a Bachelor's degree and outstanding professional achievement (A-grade artist on AIR/Doordarshan) and theoretical grounding.

Age Limit

• Maximum Age: 62 Years (as of 01 July 2026).

Selection Process

The final selection is based on a combination of:

1. Written Examination (360 Marks): 120 MCQs (30 GK + 90 Subject-specific). Duration: 2 Hours. (Negative marking: 1 mark deduction for wrong answers).
2. Interview (40 Marks): Shortlisted candidates from the written exam.
