CBI Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) Recruitment 2026

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Policy Division, New Delhi, is inviting applications from experienced advocates for engagement as Special Public Prosecutors (SPP). These prosecutors will be responsible for conducting trials of Lokpal-referred CBI cases.

Separate advertisements have been issued for the following locations:

• Lucknow
• Jabalpur
• Ghaziabad
• Coimbatore

🎓 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this engagement, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Educational Qualification: LLB degree.
• Professional Enrollment: Must possess an Enrollment Certificate as an Advocate with the Bar Council.
• Standing at Bar: A minimum of 10 years' standing as an Advocate.
• Criminal Experience: Extensive experience handling criminal matters in Sessions Courts.
• Mandatory Requirement: Proven experience in conducting trials of cases under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
• Location Constraint: Candidates must be stationed at the place where the concerned Court is situated.
