Overview
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the schedule for NEET UG 2026 Round 2. This process covers 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, as well as 100% of seats in Deemed/Central Universities, AFMC, AIIMS, and JIPMER. Parallel counselling for 85% State Quota seats is also conducted.
Important Dates
- Online Registration & Fee Payment: September 3 to 8, 2026 (Reg up to 3 PM, Fee up to 6 PM on Sept 8)
- Choice Filling: September 3 to 9, 2026
- Choice Locking: September 8 (4:00 PM) to September 9 (Morning)
- Seat Allotment Result: September 11, 2026
- Reporting/Joining at Institute: September 12 to 18, 2026
- Institute Verification: September 19, 2026
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates are eligible for Round 2 if they fall into these categories:
- Qualified NEET UG 2026 and did not participate in Round 1.
- Participated in Round 1 but were not allotted any seat.
- Allotted a seat in Round 1 under the "Float" option and seeking an upgrade.
- Note: Candidates who chose "Freeze" in Round 1 are NOT eligible for Round 2.
Step-by-Step Application Process
- Visit the official MCC portal.
- Select the "UG Medical Counselling" link.
- New candidates click "New Registration"; Float candidates log in with existing IDs.
- Enter personal, educational, and NEET UG result details.
- Upload scanned photograph and signature.
- Pay the registration fee and security deposit online.
- Fill and lock your college/course preferences within the specified window.
Critical Instructions
- Freeze vs Float: Selecting 'Freeze' exits the process; 'Float' allows for Round 2 upgrades while keeping the Round 1 seat as backup.
- Reporting Deadline: Failure to report by September 18 may result in forfeiture of the seat and security deposit.
- Round 3 Limit: Resignation from AIQ/Deemed seats is not permitted once allotted in Round 3.
